Check out this funny video about all the American Idol contestants.

SABRINA SLOAN Speaks about American Idol and Antonella Barba

Sabrina, the look on your face when Ryan announced Haley was staying and you were leaving was one of total shock. Has it set in yet?
It's starting to set in after talking about it all day.

You must have thought you were safe, especially considering Simon couldn't remember Haley's name the night before.
Haley was my roommate and good friend. We talked about it a lot, what's going to happen. You just never know. I kept saying I was going to go into this week and have fun and enjoy my song and not worry about the Thursday thing. I was really at peace during the day today.

So what went wrong?
Part of it maybe was because of the comments the judges said that I would be in the top 12. I didn't think at the time, ''Oh wait. This could backfire.'' You just never know what to expect with the show. I've watched it for five years. I know that's the way it goes.

The judges also seemed disappointed. Did they say anything to you?
Absolutely. They all came up to me and their words of support were really encouraging, about how at this point it's no longer about singing and it's about popularity. You can't always count on everyone who wants you to go ahead and vote.

Because it's a popularity vote to an extent, did you think about things like how you wore your hair or what outfit you put on more than you might have otherwise?
Absolutely. Especially this week I really tried to take the comments from the second week into consideration. The judges said I didn't come off as young. I tried to return to that. I felt like I looked my best. I felt like I sang strongly. I enjoyed the song. That's the way to go out. If I had been disappointed in my performance I would be more upset today.

Did you get to bond with the other three people kicked off?
You hug everyone on stage but you don't really get to talk to them. Antonella and Jared and Sundance were in this other room with me after the show and we all rewatched the show together. We were there to comfort each other. It's an amazing group of talented people. You just knew there's no way we all aren't going to have successes. There's life after Idol, we kept telling each other.

Which Diana Ross song were you planning on singing next week?
''You Can't Hurry Love.'' I was already planning it out in my head how I wanted the band to do it. I was thrilled about meeting her. She's an icon. The '60s and '70s are my genre. That's the real disappointing part, not getting to work with all the people coming. Hopefully I'll still get to work with them someday.

Are you pursuing any offers we should know about?
I do have some agent meetings. I'm still represented by 19 Management until the show is over so I have some time. I'm going to take a week, go to Santa Barbara, go to a spa, and relax. From there I'll keep writing music and get everything lined up so when the calls do come in I'll be ready. More...

Antonella's Photo Tribute 2

We never get tired of looking at new pictures of Antonella Barba.

Though expected to be tossed from American Idol, Antonella Barba's future has left the blogoshere in a tizzy. Will new photos show up or will we have to wait for a playboy spread? According to her friend, Amanda the tramp, Antonella is to shy to pose for playboy which, if true, means the porn thing is definately out of the question. (Girls Gone Wild et al.) Of course, "shy" is not the word that comes to mind when viewing her online photo collection. For old times sake here are my favorite photos in no particular order.

Antonella Barba - The Debate

Is Antonella Barba Finished This Week on American Idol?

Has American idol ever witnessed anything quite like the buzz over the Antonella Barba topless photos and nude pictures scandal? The young lady from New Jersey has turned the contest on its head without singing a note. Oh she has sang - but not well. It is her wild internet photos that has the idol fever so far this season. But surely the buzz over her racy photos will begin to subside at some point - then what? More...

Is Antonella Barba Safe this Week on American Idol?

Is Antonella Barba really out of harm’s way? Yes! Well, at least for now. After two weeks of eliminations by American call-in voters, the controversial American Idol contestant remains safe despite her much talked about provocative photos and poor singing performance.

"I thought you were worse then last week," Cowell told Barba. The two had some awkward exchange of words. "Simon was wrong about Jennifer Hudson, so hopefully..." said Barba before Cowell interrupted her. "Let's be absolutely clear, okay? We put Jennifer Hudson in American Idol. The American audience voted her out," he reacted. More...

Antonella Barba - Nude Photos Good Career Move

The Latest Antonella Barba Photos Here:More Antonella Barba Photos

Despite receiving some strong criticism from the American Idol judges’ Antonella Barba has lived to sing another day on the hit reality show. While Barba may not have been a favorite of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul or Randy Jackson there were plenty in the voting public that backed the highly publicized Idol hopeful.

Barba survived while Alaina Alexander, Leslie Hunt, Nicholas Pedro and A.J. Tabaldo fell victim to the popularity contest that is phone voting.

Both Hunt and Tablado were sent packing after their rendition of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” left no impression. Such is the case when your voting public is too young to recognize the artist that you’re covering.

While the Dixie Chicks cleaned up at the Grammy Awards, Alaina Alexander wasn’t as lucky on American Idol. Alexander covered “Not Ready To Make Nice” so the votes said they not willing to keep her around.

Nicholas Pedro covered the hit song “Fever” and left voters with all that goes with a fever, nausea, headache, etc. Pedro had been criticized by Simon for showing a lack of charisma and the voters seemed to agree.

While nobody really expected Barba to get the boot, it was evident on Wednesday night that she would need to step up her performance if she was going to survive through the next cuts. She may have been receiving a lot of support for the scandal involving revealing photographs of herself on the internet but the public won’t allow that to carry her all the way. More...

Antonella Barba Topless Pix: Nude Photos Deliver American Idol Vote

By Keith Walters Jones
Mar 2, 2007

Many speculated that the topless photos of Antonella Barba that emerged would give the less than stellar singer exactly the boost she needed to keep her in the popularity contest that is American idol at least one more week. And when she was pulled on stage by Ryan Seacrest on Thursday during the elimination round those that understand that much knew she would survive. In fact, when Seacrest hesitated and made it seem like Antonella would be voted off she looked absolutely shocked.

But of course she stays, even though in the real world of singing, she would already have been dumped as she has had two performances that were sub par. Add to that she is surrounded by very talented gals that are so far above her in singing talent and stage presence. But Antonella has an edge.

***

The racy pictures that have emerged have not only the Internet world buzzing, but also you can see her on many cable TV shows each night. The photos are discussed nightly on all of the cable news stations and on local network newscasts. And guess what that does? It delivers votes. She survived and is now in the top sixteen of American idol. She likely doesn't belong, but in fairness to the sexy singer neither do have the guys. But she's in for one more week and certainly the reason is the photos.

The others that were eliminated this week can't really complain. Leslie Hunt and Alaina Alexander were not ready for prime time quite yet. And here's a tip for any of the women, don't sing any Dixie Chicks song. The snobs that screw up the Grammy Awards each year don't even watch American idol. Let alone vote for it. That said - it will take a lot for Antonella to survive next week. But - stranger things have happened. More...

“American Idol,'’ Antonella Barba and the Thursday vote

By Charlie McCollum

In a previous post, I suggested that justice is sometimes elusive in the world of “American Idol'’ and Thursday’s results show proved the point.

I’ve got no problem with Alaina Alexander (the Dixie Chicks ought to barbasue her), Nick Pedro and even Leslie Hunt getting the ax. None of them would have or should have made the final 12. But dumping AJ Tabaldo (who proved he was one of the better male singer with his performance of “Feelin’ Good'’) was a head scratcher. And the fact that Antonella Barba (right) — current Queen of the Web — and Sanjaya Malakar — who has proven to have a better smile than a voice — will around for another week is painfully wrong.

All I can think of with Barba is that she got the support of the folks at the anti-”Idol'’ site votefortheworst.com (although I’ve always had my doubts about just how many votes the site really generates) and fans of “Girls Gone Wild'’ everywhere. Certainly, it wasn’t her vocal work which seems to be getting worse instead of better. Her rendition of “Because You Love Me'’ this week bordered on the horrid.

But the question may be moot because, unless things change dramatically, the competition is likely to come down to Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Jones who are two giant steps ahead of the rest in this game of Simon Says.

That’s, of course, if there is any justice in the world. Ooops, we’ve already determined that there isn’t. More...

Antonella Barba - New Photos

Sexy Pictures Won't Get Barba Booted From 'Idol' — But Last Night's Song Could

Wednesday's show makes no mention of scandal.

By Gil Kaufman

You'd be forgiven if you thought you'd mistakenly flipped on a rerun of "American Idol" on Wednesday night instead of the live girls' performance round. Because, while the rest of the world was thinking about, talking about our downloading those risqué pictures of New Jersey-born "Idol" hopeful Antonella Barba this past week, the show made no mention of the controversy at all.

The closest anyone came to commenting on the flap was when judge Randy Jackson referred to Barba — dressed in a body-hugging, satiny mini-dress — as a "drop-dead gorgeous, beautiful girl" before telling her she just didn't have a big enough voice to tackle the Celine Dion ballad "Because You Loved Me."

An "Idol" spokesperson declined MTV's requests for comment on the growing scandal — which was exacerbated by some X-rated pictures that Barba's friend Amanda Coluccio has said are fake (see " 'Idol' Hopeful Antonella Barba's Pal Says X-Rated Pics Are Fake") — but producer Nigel Lythgoe told "Extra" that he's not planning to kick Barba off the show. "Her fate is in the voters' hands," he said. More...
